Thank you to all the families and friends who joined us for our Leadership Picnic. After taking last year off due to construction, it was wonderful watching students eagerly share their notebooks filled with all their hard work from throughout the year. The last couple of weeks of school are busy with field trips, the 5th grade celebration, our final SOAR assembly, and ending the year with a fun staff vs. students’ volleyball game.

On Wednesday, June 17, each classroom will spend its final day together as a unique community of students, many of whom may never again be in the same group. It’s a special moment of closure and reflection for everyone.

Over the course of 180 days, teachers and students become a team. They support one another, face challenges, experience frustrations, and grow together. This means Support each other, Own our actions, Appreciate differences, and Reach for excellence.

You may have heard it said about parenting that “the days are long, but the years are short.” The same is true in teaching. While students and staff are excited for summer, we can’t help but feel a little sad that the year is ending because of the strong connections built within each classroom.

To our fifth graders moving on to middle school, enjoy your new adventure! To our students returning next year, we look forward to seeing you in September. Be on the lookout for teacher placements at the end of August.

Have a wonderful summer with your students, and remember: “the days are long, but the years are short.”
