Updates from the ME Garden

ME Garden, November 2024

Hello ME Garden community, 

The garden has become awash with activity. Whether they were turning compost, pulling weeds, harvesting seeds, or growing plants in the garden or our indoor growing station, ME 5^th grade students from all classes were connected to the garden in some way. 

Mr. Greer’s class was especially busy with removing the sunflowers: removing the sunflower heads and collecting the stalks to be dried and used as garden stakes. In the classroom, the flowers are stored for drying and seed collection has already begun with our first cuts from October.

To round out October and welcome in November, Jake Miller completed a major clean up and reset of the garden space. It’s just like new! Huge thank you to Jake for this tremendous service project and congratulations on earning your Eagle rank.
