Welcome to April! Spring is blooming all around us, from our school garden beds to the surrounding neighborhood. March was a full and exciting month, highlighted by one of our big events, Multicultural Night. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate the cultures of our students and families. Our choir students also had a fantastic time performing at the Kamiak Choral Festival. Last night we had an amazing turn out for our first music program of the season. Be sure to keep an eye on our weekly newsletters for information about upcoming grade level programs and concerts over the next couple of months.

Recent staff meetings have focused on planning around math instruction and ways to support all students in their continued growth during the upcoming math units this spring. This time spent together as a staff is a valued time where we learn from one another and share ideas of success across classrooms and grade levels. The professional development time we have together helps us grow as professionals and the staff and I are appreciative and thankful that families support us in having this time!

I wish all of our families a restful and rejuvenating spring break and encourage everyone to recharge and return refreshed for the final stretch of the school year! We look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday, April 13th.

Save the Date - STEAM Night - April 23rd

Volunteers Needed for STEAM Night

This year's STEAM Night will be on Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m. Bring the whole family for a fun evening of experimenting and learning! This event is run by volunteers and volunteer sign-ups for this year are now open. Materials and activity instructions will be provided for all stations, so volunteers are only responsible for running a pre-planned activity.

Original Works - Deadline Extended!

It's Not Too Late To Order Your Student's Artwork

The deadline for ordering your student's artwork for the ME PTSA's Original Works fundraiser has been extended to Friday, April 24. These custom keepsakes feature your student's artwork and make great gifts. To place your order: 
  • Visit store.originalworks.com/gallery. 
  • Enter the Access Code that was on the printed flyer that came home with your student or look up your student's artwork by selecting Mukilteo Elementary from the dropdown list of schools and entering your student's first and last name.
  • Enjoy shopping and supporting our school in the process!
 

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2026/2027 school year is now open! If you or someone you know has a child who will be five years old by Aug. 31, it’s time to register for kindergarten. Families can register online or in person at their neighborhood school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Click here to learn more and register.
 

April Reading Challenge

To complete this reading challenge, choose four different books to read this month that match the categories listed. Be sure to write the name of the book you read in the flower where it fits. Turn it into Mrs. Morse or Mrs. Edwards when you're done for a chance to win a prize. Happy Reading!

  3. Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Morse will keep track of your progress in the library.
Prizes:
  • 1 Book: For each book you read, you earn a chance to win a stuffed animal Sasquatch!
  • 3+ Books: Backpack charm with a bead for every book you've read.
  • 12 Books: Unlimited check out from our library and your name posted in the library on our "Sasquatch Reading Challenge Finishers" wall.
