I want to start with a huge THANK YOU to our ME PTSA who sponsored our recent Pumpkin Carving night. It was a great event with so many families in attendance and fun to see many students dressed up in their costumes. We appreciate our PTSA for their hard work in making this a great event for our families. During October, we also had our annual Socktober sock drive that provides socks for so many families in our local community. During the month students and families brought in 2,813 pairs of socks that will be distributed to schools and shelters within our community.

At the end of October, we also had our first SOAR recognition assembly of the year with “Fantastic Falcons” from each class being recognized. It was wonderful to see our students be recognized and many proud parents/family members in the audience. Students were recognized for Habit 1: Be Proactive and living up to the themes of “I am responsible for M.E. (self and community)” and “I choose my actions and attitudes and learn from my choices”. For the upcoming assembly in December, we will be looking for students that are “Beginning with the End in Mind” by setting goals and reaching high to achieve those goals.

Lastly, just a reminder that conferences are coming up November 24th -26th. Conference sign-ups were sent out through parent square last week to sign up for a time to meet with your student’s teacher. We look forward to seeing all families during the upcoming conference week!

Conference Week | Save the Date

Conferences are coming up November 24th -26th. There will be no school during conferences. Conference sign-ups were sent out through parent square last week to sign up for a time to meet with your student’s teacher. We look forward to seeing all families during the upcoming conference week!

As a Leader In Me school, we conduct student-led conferences allowing students to lead reflective conversations about progress and set goals with families/guardians. These conferences are a great time to talk about how students and families are feeling about the start of a new school year, and for students/teachers to share information about current academic levels and some examples of what learning looks like in your student’s current classroom/grade. The conference will also involve talking about some goals your student has and how teachers and families can work together to support your child in making progress towards their goals.

November Reading Challenge

To complete this reading challenge, choose four different books to read this month that match with the categories listed in the picture. Be sure to write the name of the book you read in or next to the leaf where it fits. Turn it into Mrs. Morse or Mrs. Edwards when you're done for a chance to win a prize. Stop by the library to pick up a paper copy. Happy Reading!
