Conference Week
Conferences are coming up November 25-27th, there will be no school during conferences. Conference sign ups were sent out through parent square last week to sign up for a time to meet with your student’s teacher. We look forward to seeing all families during the upcoming conference week!

As a Leader In Me school, we conduct student-led conferences allowing students to lead reflective conversations about progress, and set goals with families/guardians. These conferences are a great time to talk about how students and families are feeling about the start of a new school year, and for students/teachers to share information about current academic levels and some examples of what learning looks like in your student’s current classroom/grade. The conference will also involve talking about some goals your student has and how teachers and families can work together to support your child in making progress towards their goals.

School Picture Retakes - November 21st
If your child missed Picture Day or would like to have their photo retaken, school picture retakes will take place the morning of Thursday, November 21.

If you already ordered photos but your child wasn't at school on picture day, you don't need to do anything. Your child will have their picture taken during retakes.

If your child is having retakes, please have them bring their original photo packet to school on November 21 to return to the photographers. There is no cost for retakes unless you are planning to keep the original photo packet too, in which case you will need to place another order for the new photos using the link below.

If you want a new photo taken, please click the link below to order. You will receive an email confirmation. The last day to order is November 20.

If you forgot to order before the September 26 picture day or would like to order more of the original photos, please use the form enclosed in the photo packet you will received.

Birthday Celebrations
Birthdays are an exciting time for students, and we want to acknowledge student birthdays while keeping all our children safe. Due to the many students with allergies and food sensitivities, food items are not permitted for birthday celebrations at school. Please coordinate with the classroom teacher to determine the best time to celebrate your child’s birthday.

If you choose to send in a treat for your child’s classroom, we are requesting that it be non-food based. Treat ideas include: pencils or stickers, homemade Play-Doh, bubbles, small party favors, silly straws, origami, stickers, homemade games, and bookmarks. The donation of a book to the classroom library in honor of a child’s birthday would be appropriate. If you intend to purchase non-food birthday treats, please limit spending to less than $2 per student.

Balloon deliveries will be held in the office and given to the student at the end of the day. Please remember that balloon bouquets are not allowed on the school bus.
Invitations
Invitations for an activity outside of school, like a birthday party for example, should be given out outside of school unless the whole class is invited. This cuts down on hurt feelings or feelings of being excluded.
