MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL LAPTOP CARE AND RETURNS

close-up photo of a laptop keyboardIf you know your child is not returning to a school in Mukilteo School District in September, please return all materials, including their laptop and charger, to their school by June 23.

Returning middle and high school students will keep their laptops at home during the summer. Please keep your devices in a safe place, away from liquids and keep with its charger. It is recommended to turn the computer on and login once a month. Students should restart their computer the week before school begins to ensure the device receives any necessary updates that are pushed out over summer.

Incoming sixth graders will be assigned a device from their middle school at the start of the 2024-25 school year.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR AUG. 23
Photos of students and staff at previous events with text Back to School Fair

The annual back-to-school event is for all grades and all schools in our district and will be held Friday, Aug. 23, from 4-6:30 p.m. at Mariner High School. Families will have the opportunity to visit school tables, learn about district programs, meet community partners in healthcare, education, social support services, receive school supplies (supplies limited to MSD students attending the fair) and more!

With an event this large, we could use some help with a variety of tasks including stuffing school supplies into backpacks before the event, distributing them during the event, directing traffic, checking in other volunteers and more. If you can spare an hour or more, please sign up to help on this online form. Volunteers help make this a hugely successful event for all families!

Graduation ceremonies began Wednesday night at Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center where 15 students from Community Based Transition Center participated. Thursday night, 31 ACES graduates walked across the stage at Rosehill Community Center to receive their diplomas.

Graduation ceremonies for Kamiak (509 graduates) and Mariner (420 graduates) were held Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Congratulations to the graduating students and to their families, friends and loved ones for supporting them through this significant journey! And a special thanks to the many organizations and individuals who donated scholarships to students. The combined scholarships for all high schools totaled over $4 million and help students transition into colleges and careers!

FIRST-EVER INDIGENOUS GRADUATION CEREMONY

For the first time, Indigenous students in the district were honored in a special graduation ceremony. The ceremony included a song and drum by Matthew War Bonnet and wrapping the graduates with "warrior blankets." The blankets were donated by Mukilteo Schools Foundation.

Congratulations to the graduating students and many thanks to the staff and families who made this meaningful cultural ceremony possible.
